Chris Coppersmith

President & CEO
Chris is the former CEO and President of Target Logistic Services, Inc. and has 37 years of experience in the logistics industry. Chris started as a licensed Customs Broker and Ocean Freight Forwarder at L.E. Coppersmith, Inc., a family firm, and quickly assisted in the expansion from a West Coast organization to covering key points throughout the United States.

As former director, executive, and then owner of Target Airfreight, Inc., Chris grew the company to cover 36 terminals in the U.S. and then developed the Target brand overseas, with offices in China, Southeast Asia, Europe, and Canada.

Throughout Chris’ career he has had direct involvement in numerous industry organizations. He was one of the three founders of the Airfreight Forwarders Association (AFA) in the U.S., which remains the largest national association of forwarders today. As Director, President, and Chairman of the AFA, Chris helped grow the reputation of the U.S. forwarding industry worldwide. Serving on the board of forwarders and transportation companies, and as member of customer advisory boards of other key logistics providers, Chris contributed to the knowledge and understanding of key vendors to our industry. Living in Southern California, Chris is a graduate of Colorado College with a B.S. in Economics.


Ray Loehner

Vice President 
Ray Loehner joins Forwarder Services Group with over 30 years of transportation and logistics experience. In his last position at Schneider Logistics, a subsidiary of Schneider National Inc., as Vice President, Global Network, he was responsible for the opening and acquisition of several forwarding operations, plus the development of the global agency network. 

Previously, Ray was at GeoLogistics, now Agility, one of the leading international logistics providers and freight forwarders, where he was Senior Vice President of Operations for North America. He was one of the founders and the C.O.O. of Quoteship.com, later merging with Logistics.com, a company specializing in optimization systems for large trucking, air, and ocean carriers, plus procurement systems for Fortune 500 companies. 

Ray has held executive positions with a number of leading forwarders and airlines. He held the position of Managing Director of Freight Services for American Airlines, with corporate responsibilities for American‘s domestic and international freight operations. 

Ray’s background also includes management positions as Vice President International at AEI/Radix Group International, and Director of Imports at BAX. He has held the position of Adjunct Faculty Professor at Coastline Community College’s World Trade Institute of International Business and is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, with a B.S. in Aviation Management Science.


Susan Sloan Beattie

Senior Vice President
Sue Beattie joins Forwarder Services Group with over twenty five years of transportation and logistics experience. Over the last twenty years she has held several positions with Mainfreight, Inc. and previously with Target Logistic Services, including Vice President, Senior Vice President, and Vice President, Administration. She was part of the key management team that took Target Airfreight, Inc., then Target Logistic Services, from a private to public company, increasing revenues to over $200 million worldwide.

Sue has extensive knowledge in all areas of the transportation industry, from negotiating with international partners and formulating agreements to corporate support for executive and regional management and handling all policies and procedures, including Human Resources and Legal contracts.

She has held positions with other leading transportation logistics providers, including Panalpina and Profit Freight Systems (now Agility). She lives in Southern California and is an expatriate from the United Kingdom, where she was educated and graduated from the University of John Moores, Liverpool, with a B.A. in Business Administration.


Thomas MacPhee

Vice President, Operations
Tom MacPhee joins Forwarder Services Group with over 45 years of experience in all phases of transportation. Most recently, he was North Central Regional Manager for Target Logistic Services, with responsibility for business development for 13 mid-western states.

As Director of Company Stores for Seko Logistics, he had full operating responsibility for the company offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City. As President of Classic Cargo, a U.S. to Canada network was developed with over 20 combined offices, and with business in excess of 20M. This business was merged into Right O Way Air, a Canadian organization. MacPhee joined them as Director of Canadian Development. As Western Regional Vice President for Eden Air Freight, he was responsible for all aspects of the growth of the business. Previously, Tom had been Vice President of US Transportation Services for Livingston International, a Canadian organization. Throughout the prior years, MacPhee spent 10 years with CF Air Freight as District Manager in Chicago, and 10 years with Emery Air Freight as Sales Manager in St. Louis, MO.
